USS Harry S. Truman ship collision injury revealed in new pictures

New photographs reveal the extent of the injury the USS Harry S. Truman suffered this week when it collided with a service provider vessel close to Egypt within the Mediterranean Sea. 

The pictures launched Saturday by the Navy’s Sixth Fleet present a tear on the starboard facet of the plane provider, close to its stern. 

A pipe operating alongside the facet of the ship seems to be severely broken as nicely. 

“The Nimitz-class plane provider USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) was concerned in a collision with the service provider vessel Besiktas-M at roughly 11:46 p.m. native time, Feb. 12, whereas working within the neighborhood of Port Mentioned, Egypt, within the Mediterranean Sea,” the Navy’s Sixth Fleet Public Affairs stated in a press release earlier this week.

“The collision didn’t endanger the Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) as there are not any experiences of flooding or accidents. The propulsion crops are unaffected and in a protected and secure situation,” it added.

The Navy stated the incident is now “beneath investigation.”
