The leader of the Heritage Foundation believes President-elect Donald Trump can end the war in Ukraine in days under certain conditions.

The remarks from Kevin Roberts, president of the right-wing think tank behind Project 2025 with close ties to the Trump team, echo the rhetoric pushed by the incoming Trump administration throughout the campaign trail.

Trump has claimed he could end the war quickly while Vance, an Iraq War veteran, has expressed skepticism about giving aid to Ukraine and seeks a peace settlement, which he suggested could include Ukrainian land concessions to Russia and nixing NATO membership while creating a demilitarized buffer zone.

Similarly, Roberts said he believes Trump can end the war within days if Ukraine ceases efforts to join NATO and makes territorial sacrifices in eastern regions of Ukraine occupied by Russia, including Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson.

“Under Donald Trump, the Ukraine war will be done in days,” Roberts told The Sun, claiming: “Putin is scared to death of Trump but tragically Ukraine needs to give up territory for that to happen.”

Gabbard’s views have led many in the Washington and intelligence establishment to accuse her of being a Russian asset, which she has fiercely denied.

“When powerful, influential people make baseless accusations of treason, a crime punishable by death, in order to intimidate, silence and censor those who speak the truth, it has a chilling effect on our democracy,” she said at the time in response to the uproar about her positions.

A new Gallup poll released in November revealed that support among Ukrainians for making sacrifices to end the war has skyrocketed in recent months compared to the start of the war.

Now, 52% of Ukrainians want the war as soon as possible and are willing to make land concessions for peace.
