Man arrested on DC Metrobus for fare evasion discovered carrying loaded shotgun: police

A person arrested in Washington, D.C., for boarding a Metrobus with out paying the fare was discovered to be carrying a loaded shotgun, based on the Metro Transit Police Division.

The person, recognized by FOX 5 DC as 30-year-old Gerald Evans, was confronted by plain-clothes bus enforcement officers after he allegedly bought on an X2 route bus with out paying at round 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

When officers tried to concern Evans a quotation for fare evasion, he allegedly refused to offer identification and was positioned underneath arrest.

Evans was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying a harmful weapon, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of unregistered ammo, fugitive from justice and fare evasion.

The Washington Metropolitan Space Transit Authority advised FOX 5 that Evans’ arrest was “an instance of fare enforcement in motion.”
