Delta airplane’s tail sliced off in horror runway crash at Seattle Airport

A Japan Airways airplane has struck the tail of a parked Delta airplane at Seattle-Tacoma Worldwide Airport in Washington. 

The airport mentioned the incident came about after 10am on Wednesday morning.

No accidents have been reported. 

Passengers took to social media following the incident, with one saying the Delta airplane “shook” as the opposite plane hit its tail. 

“We had been sitting on the tarmac at SeaTac and one other airplane bumped into us, simply casually sliced into our tail. Very scary,” passenger Jackie wrote on X. “The airplane shook. Loud. It was scary. Getting inspected now.”

Seattle-Tacoma Worldwide Airport mentioned it was working with each airways to soundly deplane passengers and produce them to the terminal.

“There may be minimal influence to airport operations as this occurred on a taxi lane. Passengers are inspired to test with their airways if they’re flying right now,” the airport mentioned. 

Delta Airways mentioned there have been 142 folks on board the airplane, which was enroute to Puerto Vallarta from Seattle when the incident occurred. 

“Whereas in sequence for deicing, the tail of a Delta 737 plane reportedly made contact with a wing tip of one other airline’s plane. There aren’t any reviews of accidents for crew or prospects on the flight, and we apologize for the expertise and delay in travels,” Delta mentioned in an announcement.

The incident is considered one of a number of airplane accidents in the USA over the past week. 

Final week, an American Airways airplane and an Military helicopter collided in midair close to Washington’s Ronald Reagan Nationwide Airport, killing 67 folks within the deadliest air catastrophe within the nation since 2001.
